Hey guys!! It's Megan and it's Thursday in a very interesting week. Today we left early in the morning and had a good breakfast of oatmeal with peanut butter (it's amazing: try it!!!), cereal, bananas, sausage, yogurt, and fruit. Then we headed 2 hours north to a town called Shiprock for the day. We passed some sweet rock formations on the way there and had awesome team bonding... Super blessed by this team. When we got to Shiprock we met with the missionary from Chambersburg BIC, Jason. We prayed over some places in the town and went to go visit some friends of Jason that lived in a very nice apartment complex. We had lunch with them and were able to listen to their stories and pray with them. I then had the opportunity to play with 7 of the local kiddos at the park. It was so much fun; we played a crazy version of tag called Shark. Then we headed to Jason's house and met his wife and super adorable kids. We walked around the area looking for kids to invite over but no kids were to be found. So instead we did a variety of crazy fun things. Here's a short list:
-chopped wood
-milked a goat (shout out to Maggie Anthony for doing this(; )
-watched a chicken die and get butchered
-oh and Gail got us all dilly bars from DQ. Thanks Gail!!!
I got to hangout with the two oldest kiddos, Christy and Abigail, who ran around and were crazy like me. We did not want to leave. So now we are on our way back to the church for dinner, worship, debrief and hanging out with Pastor Paul and his family. I absolutely love it here in New Mexico, especially the weather, people, and our team in general. This week has offered so much growth as I learned that through the trials, I have to put ALL my trust in God who can see the entire big picture. And well it has been so clear to me that our team is here for a reason. Thank you for your prayers, we can feel them! And God has already done so much and it's only Thursday!! Woo hoo- see you all when we get back- LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD!!!!
Megan
